Shell and tape path inspection
The shell, pressure pad, guides, screws or welded body and visible tape path are checked before recording. Bad shells are rejected before they become a reference.
QC
The production page explains what is controlled before a test cassette is offered: shell, tape path, recording chain, signal level, speed reference and documentation.
The shell, pressure pad, guides, screws or welded body and visible tape path are checked before recording. Bad shells are rejected before they become a reference.
The recording chain is documented: machine, signal source, level target, tape type and any deliberate pre-compensation used for the batch.
The cassette is checked after recording with instruments and playback verification. The check is focused on the stated signal purpose, not on marketing claims.
A batch note can include signal frequency, reference level, date, machine chain, measured result and operator note.

Spin-Tape does not present early batches as official calibration standards. A cassette is described by its measured batch note and intended service use.
